Who We Are…

The Meals Partnership Coalition has roots that go back more than 30 years and has been in its present form since 1999. MPC was founded to support the work of Seattle non-profit meal providers through the sharing of resources and information.

10 years later MPC is still founded in the support of emergency meal programs, but today MPC is much more. Today our members include not only meal programs, but local leaders, concerned community members, and other essential agencies in the emergency food system.

MPC provides trainings for our meal providers on how to develop better menus through the “Meals for Many” training; seminars that are open to the public about how nutrition affects us and what foods will help us feel better; connecting coalition meal provider members with food/financial donors; representing the interests and needs of emergency meal providers at the local and state government levels; partnering with other parts of the emergency food system to better serve the needs of our community members; and of course our monthly meetings where we host many different special discussions that range from pandemic flu preparedness within meal programs to nutritional excellence.

We do all of these things with one goal in mind; ensuring that every Seattle/King County resident’s nutritional needs are met through access to the most healthy foods available.
